Kalis Magani

Joel D. Anajao is a professor of Sport Science at the College of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (CSPEAR) at Cavite State University. He began learning arnis from his family, which has a tradition of being teachers and soldiers since the Spanish Colonial period. Mr. Anajao became the technical director of the Modern Arnis Federation of the Philippines and was a player of Arnis, Karatedo, and Muay Thai in his youth.

He studied various Japanese martial arts and earned certification as a dedicated practitioner. Mr. Anajao was introduced to Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) while working in Geneva, Switzerland. Additionally, he is a member of the Cateran Society of Broadsword. In his senior years, one of his missions is to help Filipino youth through martial arts training.
